One of our favourite ever finds! We have been hanging on to this beautiful tea table for a while now, but it's time for her to find a new home. If you are lucky enough to have a room in your home purely for entertaining, this table would be a wonderful focal point from which to serve afternoon tea, to display candles or to use as an alternative 'bard cart'. Just imagine pouring yourself a G & T of an evening and sitting back to enjoy a spot of Ivor Novello on your gramophone.*
*Fantasy life not included in sale.
As you can see in the photographs, there is **significant damage** to the mother of pearl. These tables were all hand made - the shells undoubtedly came from other broken pieces that would otherwise have been discarded - combs, counters, trinket dishes, fans, buttons and the like, as well as fragments from broken cutlery. The marquetry is, however, in fairly good repair.
If you wished, you could restore the table - there is still plenty of mother of pearl to be found and it would be a simple enough job to do - the overall effect is similar to crazy paving.
**Please check that you are happy with the condition of the table BEFORE purchasing!**

Thanks for looking xx
We source all sorts of lovely vintage homewares on our travels across the UK and beyond. Because some of our items are very old, there may be some wear to the pattern – especially if there is any gilt in the design. We will endeavour to mention any wear and tear, minor chips, cracking in the glaze or indeed any other imperfections in the item description.
If you’re looking for a particular item, drop us an email, we may be able to help!
